The Literacy Center provides a variety of materials for adults who have basic literacy needs to learn to read and write, and for ESOL adults who are just learning English. The Center has a variety of periodicals, books, CDs and DVDs to help the adult learner.
There are Literacy Assistants scheduled at various times to assist patrons who wish to apply for a library card; borrow books, videos, music, etc.; fill out applications and form or read instructions; to register for programs at MCPL for themselves or their children; provide computer tutoring sessions; help patrons find the right programs for learning; help arrange tutoring.
We offer a variety of programs each season to meet the needs of our patrons, including Basic and Intermediate English classes, English Conversation Groups, Writing Workshop of ESOL Students, Reading Comprehension for ESOL Students, Computer Classes, and Mujeres Latinas.
