The role of the public library continues to evolve but at its core, the library is the cornerstone of the community, a center for lifelong learning and discovery, promoting literacy and contributing to the economic development of our region.  The library provides vibrant community spaces where everyone has the opportunity to interact, collaborate, and learn.  Through our continued outreach efforts and community engagement, the library continues to cultivate collections, resources, and programs based on your needs and input. We invite you to take our new community survey at www.mcplibrary.org/survey so that we can better serve you going forward.  The survey will be open from March 10 to May 31, 2025.

As part of our annual message, a summary of next year’s budget is included.  The proposed 2025/2026 budget reflects an increase of 0.68%, which is below the tax cap limitation.  We strive to be financially prudent while providing exemplary services, programs and resources, remain a steady local employer and as always, your neighborhood library.  We hope that you continue to enjoy all that the library offers.  Thank you for your ongoing support.

Please contact Sophia Serlis-McPhillips, library director, at 631-585-9393 ext. 219 or email serlismc@mcplibrary.org with any questions you may have pertaining to the budget.
