How to Connect to
a Live Zoom Program
Using Your Desktop or Laptop PC
1. Click on the link to the Zoom program or copy and paste the link into your web browser.
2. If you have never used Zoom on your computer before, click “download & run Zoom” (it’s free!)
If you have Zoom already, click “Open Zoom”
You may be asked to enter your email address and your name once Zoom is open.
3. If you enter the program before the start time, you may see this message. Just hang tight and the host will begin shortly!
NOTE: Most of our programs will not have video or audio-enabled for participants unless otherwise specified. You may or may not see these notifications.
4. To exit the program, move your mouse to the bottom of the Zoom program screen so your menu bar appears, then click “Leave Meeting”
How to Connect to
a Live Zoom Program
Using Your iOS or Android Device
1. Download the free Zoom Cloud Meetings app from your app store (Apple, Google Play, or Kindle)
2. Once you have the app installed, use the same device to tap on the link to the program you wish to enter.
3. For iOS (iPhone, iPad) users:
Once you have tapped on the Zoom link, a pop up may appear. Tap “open” or “open in Zoom” if there are other options. If the pop up does not appear, Zoom should open automatically. You may also be prompted to enter your name and email address.
For Android users:
Once you have tapped on the Zoom link, a pop up may appear. Tap on the Zoom icon. You may also be prompted to enter your name and email address.
4. If you enter the program before the start time, you may see this message. Just hang tight and the host will begin shortly!
NOTE: Most of our programs will not have video or audio-enabled for participants. You will not be prompted to activate your audio or video unless otherwise specified.
5. Even though your audio will be muted for most programs, you will still want to hear the instructor. If prompted, tap “Call using Internet Audio” or you can tap “Join Audio” once you are in the program, on the bottom left menu.
6. To exit the program, tap “Leave Meeting” on the top right, both on iOS and Android devices.
Hoopla allows users to check out and stream audiobooks, music, movies, and TV shows, at www.hoopladigital.com, or by using the Hoopla app, available for Android and iOS devices.
