Hearing Loop now available in Centereach
The library is pleased to announce the availability of a Hearing Loop system in the Community Room in the Centereach building. The hearing loop transmits sound through an installed wire that “loops” around a portion of the room allowing patrons with hearing aids to pick up the signal. The signal is directed to a part of a hearing aid called a T-Coil enabling the loop to eliminate distracting background noise and reverberation. The Loop will be available during any program in which an audiovisual component system is used, including film, musical performances, and speaking engagements. The system’s installation was made possible by a generous donation from the Foundation for Sight & Sound. For further information, please contact Sal DiVincenzo at 631-585-9393 ext. 216.
