The library is continually developing and offering new programs, collections and services for our community members including those with disabilities. Please remember that children and teens with special needs are encouraged to participate in all teen and children’s library programs. In the Youth Services department, staff has imagined a wide spectrum of programs. Children’s play groups, therapy dog book readings and Friday social nights for teens are designed to meet the needs of all. Sensory Storytime and Let’s Get Together, and librarian visits with special education classes are targeted library programs that address the unique needs of kids. See our programs offered specifically for children with special needs on page 24 and for teens on page 17. This spring, look out for adult programs featuring fun crafts and music. Special collections include large print books, audiobooks, Playaway titles and Braille books which help patrons with vision issues and striving readers.
